Just A Minute

Group Size: Any

Key Stages: KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5

Team Building Skills: Decision making, Communication, Planning.

Equipment: A means of timing one minute accurately.

Just A Minute is a very simple game that can be played in a few different ways.

The first is with players playing individually. The group must sit in a large circle. The teacher will say start when everyone is ready. It is then up to the individual to stand up when they think exactly a minute has passed. The teacher will be timing and can tell the class who achieved the closest time.

A different variation of Just A Minute is to play with lots of different groups of students. The students will be sat down in groups and will need to decide when to stand up as a group. This is decidedly trickier as a group decision will need to be made.
